House of Commons,157

Dear I. Thomas,

You are probably more that considerable unensiness

has been aroused by xwicku revorta of unentisfactory condition

reloting to sonial hygiene in the British Crown Colonies,

particularly in lon. Kong and the Straits Settlements.

Feeling that it is not altogether desirable to raise

technical mattern of this kind by Parlimentary ques ions in

the House of Commons, we should mach precinte it if you

would allow us to meet you as a small deputation, to lay

before you wroposals which, 1o adopted, would, we think, tend

to slly publie uneminent, and which might also be of 40His-

tande by planing at your diaposal the best non-o Ticină expert

opinion.

The aspects of social hygiene to which we specially

refer arej❤

provision for maternity and infant welfare;

the position of the "ul toni; fnoilities for the treatment of

Suberculosis; the system of tolerated brothels and vine areas; the policy towardo venere-l diseases and "^nilities for their

effective treatment.

Yours sincerely,

The Rt.lon.".".Thorina,
